ABOUT

Green Island is located in the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park, just 27km offshore from Cairns, and is one of the most popular destinations on the Great Barrier Reef for visitors coming to Far North Queensland.

IMPLEMENTATION

The Jetty that acts as the lifeblood of the island was built in 1960 and over the years some attempts had been made to repair and maintain it but no major repairs had been undertaken. CPR Services were engaged by our client SRG Global to spray all of the concrete repairs to this significant project.
The environmental controls were second to none with the site being located over part of the great barrier reef, which is a UNESCO world heritage area.
CPR utilised our specialised gunite systems, developed for large volume dry spray concrete application where dust free systems are required and rebound needs to be kept to a minimum.
In addition to the gunite spraying, CPR also completed some of the epoxy resin injection to the wharf.
All works were completed to a very high standard to the satisfaction of our client.
