ABOUT

The M80 Ring Road is an urban freeway ring road around Melbourne, Victoria. The ring road connects Melbourne’s western suburbs and northern suburbs to other Victorian urban and rural freeways.

IMPLEMENTATION

CPR Services undertook carbon fibre reinforcement (CFRP) bridge strengthening works for two bridges over Merri Creek and the Hume Freeway as part of the M80 Ring Road Upgrade project.
Approximately 1,000m of carbon fibre wraps were installed to the bridge girders, with works being completed at night to minimise traffic disruption.
All installed CFRP wraps were then covered with an anti-carbonation coating to prolong service life.
