ABOUT
Swanson Dock is located on the Yarra River in the Port of Melbourne. Swanson Dock West is a critical International Container Terminal comprising of a 944m wharf with three container-handling berths. Stage 1 of the Rehabilitation project includes the remediation and upgrade of the existing wharf structure.
IMPLEMENTATION
CPR Services is undertaking concrete repair and strengthening works on this project including the remediation of fender beams, bollards and sheet pile wall.
Fender Beam Repairs
There are fourteen 15m lengths of fender beam requiring rehabilitation works. CPR trained technicians undertake initial steel augmentation and reinstatement before gunite spray and finishing.
50t & 100t Bollard Repairs
The bollard repair scope includes reinforcement installation into new rebates, templating and installing fixings for new bollards to secure the larger vessels once works are complete.
Sheet Pile Wall Remediation
Remediation works on the sheet pile wall covers an area of 260m in length and 2.2m high and are a little more complex.
For the first time in Australia, CPR Services are constructing and installing the QuakeWrap SPiRe system which is a unique construction method that essentially installs a new concrete sheet pile wall in front of the existing sheet pile wall before securing and grouting, resulting in a strengthened structure.
